If 1) or 2) applies, the message is not marked as Junk because Mail does not know why. If you have the Junk Mail filter set to Trust Junk email headers, Mail will move the message to the Junk folder, but won't mark it as Junk because it has no idea why somebody else marked it as Junk.ģ) Mail identifies the email as Junk and moves it into the Junk folder and also marks it as Junk Spam can be moved into the Junk folder in various ways.ġ) Your email provider (iCloud, Gmail, etc) can move it to the server Spam folder before it is ever delivered to you.Ģ) Your email provider or anyone else that touches the email while it is enroute to you you can mark the email with Spam headers. No longer getting spammed with HTML emails. Since Mail doesn't think it is Junk, there is no purpose in marking it Not Junk from within Mail. Okay, so the SPF records (we have two email domains.dont ask.) has resolved the issue. However, Mail may not be flagging it, so it is not actually marked as junk. On the International tab in the Junk E-mail Options you can mark select country domains as spam if you are unlikely to ever receive any emails from these regions. The option is usually grayed out both on the Home tab and when you right-click on a message. To do this: Get into the Junk E-mail folder. It will then add the email sender address to the trusted sender list. When this is the case, you are not able to access the options to block email or access the Junk Email Options screen. Method 1: Mark spam mail in the junk folder as ‘Not Junk/Spam’ The fastest way to prevent Outlook from sending legit emails to the junk folder is to tell it that the specified email sender is not a spammer. The purpose of marking email as Not Junk is so that Mail can learn not to flag it. You may notice that the Junk option in Microsoft Outlook 2016 or 2013 is grayed out.
